Last year, we asked the science spokesmen for the three major parties to summarize their party's science policies in 1000 words. We told each that “Your readership will be scientists working in the life sciences, most of them with PhDs and above. They are aware of the contribution they make to the prosperity of the nation… They want to know what each party will do for science and for them. What we require is a manifesto of firm policies, rather than aspirations.” Here are their replies, in the order they arrived.
