Imbalance of Homeostasis in the nervous system

Open for submissions

An increasing number of people worldwide are suffering from neurological diseases and many treatments have failed. There is a need to learn more about the biology of these diseases, that result from imbalances in homeostasis, before translating to clinical trials.  Understanding the mechanisms that lead to these imbalances can help develop more effective treatments. Additionally, the world has a growing number of elderly individuals and one of the hallmarks of aging is imbalance of homeostasis in the nervous system.

Bioscience Reports is inviting content for a special collection covering signal transduction pathways affected by aging, mutations, epigenetic modifications, metabolism and viral infections affecting homeostasis of the nervous system leading to diseases in both central and peripheral nervous system. This collection seeks to give new insights into homeostasis, and to help identify new therapeutic strategies. Studies covering different strategies to model homeostasis of the nervous system and its associated diseases are also welcomed.
