Mitochondrial swelling in the heart of obese insulin resistant rats. In the latest issue of Clinical Science (volume 133, issue 24), Maneechote et al. observed that modulations of mitochondrial dynamics attenuated this deterioration in cardiac mitochondria, resulting in improved heart contractility.
