In their study, Qiu et al. examine the expression and functions of dual specific phosphatase 12 (DUSP12) in a hepatic ischemia reperfusion model. This study shows that DUSP12 alleviates liver inflammation and apoptosis induced by hepatic ischemia-reperfusion(I/R) injury by inhibiting the ASK1-JNK/p38 signaling pathway. This is a representative H&E staining image of the necrotic areas in ischemic liver lobes of the indicated mice at 6 h after I/R.
