This issue of Clinical Science (vol 135, issue 3), features immunohistochemical stain images from a research article by Yiu et al. In their study, they found that renal kallistatin was significantly lowered in patients with CKD and its expression correlated with renal function, implying that reduced kallistatin may become a biomarker for the progression of CKD.
