This Clinical Science cover features hepatic and cardiac sections of fat Aussie (Foz) mice suffering from fibrosing Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) and their healthy wild type counterparts fed a fat-rich diet. Liver sections are stained with haematoxylin and eosin or with Sirius Red to assess fibrosis. Heart sections were stained with wheatgerm agglutinin to determine cardiomyocyte size; the presence of cardiac fibrosis was highlighted with Sirius Red. Read more from Bott and colleagues in, “When the liver is in poor condition, so is the heart - cardiac remodelling in MASH mouse models” on pp 1151–1171. Images provided by Isabelle Leclercq.
