We work with a global network of subscription agents. Key agencies are mentioned below but this is neither an exhaustive list nor does it exclude us fulfilling orders from other agents. Please use your normal channels for procuring subscriptions.
- Subscription agents: Ebsco, Otto Harrassowitz, Prenax, Lehmans, WT Cox, Yulim, Celdes, Allied Publishers Subscription Agency, Total I.T. Solutions, Teldan, Lily Journal & Book
Your subscription agent will supply us with your institutional name (and where possible we encourage your Ringgold ID), IP addresses, post and email contacts. To ensure continuity each year, we send renewal quotes by September and strongly encourage agents pay us by 1 December prior to the subscription year. Agents are responsible for the continuity of orders placed through them.
The following library consortia have regional or national deals with us. If your institution is a member, you may wish to contact them directly in the first instance.

Our platform vendors offer 24/7 service availability (at 99.8% uptime). If online access has been lost for current or previous paid years of service, please contact our Customer Services team.
Marketing and communications resources
We have developed a wide range of resources for our library customers so that they can communicate information about our publishing activities to their scholars. Download promotional materials from our author and librarian resource area.

Sponsors
If you are from a company interested in sponsoring a collection, content package, or content from The Biochemist, or you wish to explore any of our other sponsorship opportunities, including Biochemical Society events, please contact our Sponsorship team.
Payment terms
Payments by bank transfer are preferred and the appropriate currency account details and an order reference number to be quoted will be on all invoices.
A subscription for a particular year gives access to all content from January to December, regardless of the month in which the subscription is ordered. If a subscription lapses or is cancelled at the end of its term, the customer retains perpetual access to content from the paid years of their subscription.
Note: subscriptions cannot be cancelled in their current year of service. We do not offer any refunds once a subscription has been paid and activated.
Currencies
Unless otherwise specified, prices are applicable and currency transactions accepted in the following regions:
- Euros (€) – for all European countries (excluding the UK)
- US Dollars ($) – for North, Central and South America, and Canada
- Sterling (£) – for UK and ROW not covered above
Please ensure you use the appropriate currency when ordering/renewing your journal subscriptions.
Value Added Tax (VAT)
Our VAT number is GB 523 2392 69.
For European Union and ROW: Clearly state your VAT number on all orders otherwise VAT may be charged at the appropriate national rate.
For UK: VAT will be charged at 20% on all applicable orders except on Combined Print + Online subscriptions. These will have a VAT charge of 20% applied to 25% of the total subscription cost. (For example, if the subscription was £1000 then £250 would be VATable at 20%.)
